Abigail's 6th Birthday! (9-24-11)

Abigail wanted to have her birthday party at the pottery place this year. She invited some friends from church and her cousins. Mimi and Papa brought them all up for the party and lunch afterwards.

She decided to have a "cats and dogs" theme and chose to put some of her own "bobble heads" (aka Littlest Pet Shop) on her cookie cake.

The girls all got to pick their own piece to paint (most chose the same dog)

Finished!

Cake time!

Abigail got a birthday plate and everyone from the party signed it, or put a mark on it for her. A very cool keepsake!

Happy Birthday to my sweet 6 yr old! Time sure is flying by, but you are growing into such a sweet girl, thoughtful and caring! You love to teach younger kids (especially your sister) how to do things, often, talking in a "baby voice." You are learning to read and doing an awesome job! I love to see you grin from ear to ear when you have finished a book, or sounded out a particularily long word, and the joy on your face when you run to tell Daddy, that you "know how to read now!"

You are such a big help around the house, sometimes fussing about doing chores, but in the end, you complete the job that was asked of you. You love to help in the kitchen, making dinner or the next "dessert experiment" I am cooking up! You often come into the sewing room to find out what I'm working on and to see if you can help.

You love "doing school," often asking if you can write in your journal before I tell you it's time to go outside! You told me the other day your favorite thing about school was learning the days of the week/calendar and figuring out the date! :-)

When you feel like doing it, you are pretty organized. You like to put all your shoes in neat rows and stack your magazines neatly on your desk. You will take care of the toys that mean something to you, and you (and Maddie) are currently trying to earn money to save up to buy an American Girl doll.

You learned to ride a two-wheel bike this year. Daddy taught you and Maddie in one day a few months before your birthday. Now you both have "big girl" bikes and are riding like pros! Daddy takes you on a bike ride almost every night when he gets home from work. You do a great job keeping your bike straight and going up big hills (you used to have to walk your bike up every time.) You and Maddie are outside just about every day for hours, usually dragging babies all around and riding your bike back and forth to the neighbors! I'm so proud of how brave you have become, really living the verse you have learned, "Be strong, Be courageous, Do not be afraid!"

You are funny, full of love and have a desire to please. You are constantly saying how much you love Jesus and God (still trying to get it all straight, who is who!) :-) You are memorizing Bible verses and working hard to recite them in Sparks. There are many times that your first response to someone's illness or hurt is to pray for them. I pray that your love for the Lord will continue as you get older and that you will learn what it means to serve Him with your life.

You are my sweet baby girl, even though you insist that you're not a baby anymore! :-) I love you and I am so glad God gave you to me. It is an honor to be your mom.
